Isaiah 42:22 - But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivers; for a spoil, and none said, Restore.
Hid means to withdraw or to hide, to hide oneself, to be forced into hiding, to be hidden, as where prison is in regards to imprisonment, confinement, restraint. When you study history behind this scripture, you will see that the Jews didn't want to risk exposing themselves to be taken as captive, their land was filled with their enemies, so they pretty much were obliged to hide themselves hoping to not be caught by their enemies. Understand that when your in hiding, you are just like being imprisoned and restrained, because you can't physically move about as you would please, hiding is a condition, which limits your freedom. So the caverns, or caves or chambers were they were hiding themselves, were unto them symbolically as being in prison. Some were even hiding out in dark places within their homes hoping not to be caught, just like if a bounty hunter or bondsman is looking for you, you are going to hide yourself somewhere, and if your home, you try and find an area that is dark, meaning not suspecting one to consider looking at or in, same with the Jews here.
This was not talking about a literal prison, the scripture said they are for a prey, in which when you are hiding, you are for a prey, meaning you are being hunted, someone is aiming for you as in to kill or capture you, now how can they do so if you are already in prison? That means you have already been caught, which would mean you are not for a prey, and none delivers, means no one is going to rescue you out of that condition. Hole is talking about literally a hole, a deliberate opening made in or through something, which you will find the Jews in this condition upon the Chaldeans coming to capture them, as well as when the Roman soldiers robbed and plundered them of all their riches and treasures, when the city of Jerusalem was taken. Then they were hiding in caverns and dens of the earth, were laid in wait for, and taken and dragged out, as beasts are taken in a pit, and with a snare. Read your Josephus, it tells you the Romans killed some, some they carried captive, some they searched out lurking in holes underground, and breaking up the ground, took them out and slew them.
These brothers today are in jail due to a lack of knowledge, which stems from proper training according to the laws and statutes and commandments at home. They are in jail due to their ignorance, unbalance in governing of their emotions, and a good majority are in jail due to being wrongfully charged. This scripture is not a sign to let you know who the children of Israel are, what holes are these brothers hiding themselves in, they not outside digging no caves or hiding in no chambers so one time will not get them, these negroes are at their mama house or baby mama house or drug house when they getting busted, they in plain view. Folks you got to swallow your pride and call a spade a spade, if something is not right then its just not right, many of us have at one time believed this Pharisee teaching that was in circulation as an explanation, without doing any deep spiritual exploration, just taking it at face value because it sound good and looks like a perfect fit to explain what we wanted to hear, come on now. People please stop reading other people pages and hitting me up with tons of questions based off what someone else is saying, we are not here to police others doctrines.
